INTERVIEW WITH THE TOP ELEVEN 2023 PLAYER AND REDS FC MANAGER NIGERIAN LION

Hello Reds FC manager. First of all, thank you for accepting our interview invitation.

Can you introduce yourself to us? You can use your real ID or anonymous ID.

I’m Chijioke Ochubili aka Reds FC (might change that name soon).

Why are you playing Top Eleven?

To be honest, I saw countless adverts about the game and I finally decided to install it. Since then, I’ve never stopped playing it. I’m playing it due to my love of football tactics and I’ve never played football manager before.

What does Top Eleven mean to you?

A lot with respect to my ambition to be a football analyst. I use the game to learn tactics and how a club is ran. I see some similarities with what I was taught about analysis and football in general.

What is the team name we use in the game? Why did you choose this team name?

Reds FC (might change it soo). Because I’m a fan of Liverpool FC.

Are you a member of a particular community? Can you introduce your community for us?

YES. I’m in the Top Eleven Legends community. I didn’t know such communities existed till @LFC_T11 introduced me to them. I’ve learnt so much from many of them about the game.

Can you give information about your team’s tactics?

Easy… I traditionally play a 4-3-3 with a flat back four. My midfield consist of a DM, CM and a LM/RM. My forwards are 2 side AMs and a striker.

I generally play with an LM for creativity as my captain is Marcelo Cecilia and he’s an assist king. My fullbacks are always ML/MR as I need to have the creativity skill on them as I’ve noticed it makes them more attacking and hence, they get above 5 assists. The wide forwards generally cross or beat their men before shooting while the striker is just a goal machine.

Do you have any criticism and solution suggestions that you would like to convey to Top Eleven managers?

Funny enough, a lot of my suggestions are actually taken note of by Top Eleven as I’ve seen few implemented (the latest final premium prize of selecting an academy player’s position for the player before unlocking). I still have some criticisms and solutions though:

Giving 30-60 secs highlight clips of league, cup and competition games against rivals to understand how they play. Feel it will give a real football analysis feeling to managers on how their opponents play.

Another criticism is inability for managers to perform loan signings. I think this is really annoying as Top Eleven offers players on loan to managers for maximum of 3 days (except premium gifts) and they come at high number of tokens. Y not just make managers trade with eachother for a loan deal to make players still develop elsewhere during a season. That way, it brings a real football feeling to the game.

Another criticism is doing negotiation during the last week of the season. I feel this is a dumb idea cos I’m getting a 99% player and in less than a week, he’ll reduce to 79% due to the new season deducting 20% from every player. Simply make the negotiation period to be during the 1st week of the season so managers can know how they’ll plan ahead of a new season. They can even make the loan option I was talking about earlier, available and watch how a lot of managers will patronise it.

Lastly, game’s AI is messed up. If one trains his/her team to 130%, a 170% team is waiting for him/her in every competition involved. I think Top Eleven needs to seriously look into it as it’s killing the fun of the game and competition. I mean, I’ve not competed for 3 seasons now because I keep getting drawn against a 171% managers who wins everyone without even setting his team up. I already know I’m going trophyless and won’t compete for major honours. Fix the AI and program it that the maximum difference between the highest rated team to the lowest rated team is 20%. This will maintain competition and make everyone feel satisfied.
